FESTEVAL IN THE CLOUDS IN SAPA

The festival on the clouds is an annual festival held on April 30 – May 2 as part of a series of activities for the entire SaPa Tourism culture. It is held on Hàm Rồng mountain or somewhere designated by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in SaPa.

The festival on the clouds creates a space for visitors to immerse themselves in singing and dancing and learn about the life and culture imbued with the identity of indigenous people.

Tourist can enjoy the love songs of the Dao ethnic group the Khèn and Flute sounds of the Hmong ethic group, the Thèn singing melodies of the Tày ethnic group, the Còn throwing festival of the Giáy ethnic group, and dances simulating the working life of Xa Phó ethnic group. Dances with strong ethnic identities from villages around SaPa such as Cát Cát, Tả Van, Tả Phìn, Bản Hồ… and performing art troupes such as fan dance, folk dance, Khèn dance with umbrella, drum dance, sword dance of all different ethnic group in SaPa.

Food is provided free of charge at the festival venue in the clouds, with specialties of each ethic group. Visitors also witness some typical folk rituals of the people of the mystical SaPa maountain

During the festival, there are also activities such as photo and art exhibitions, food fairs, trade fairs and SaPa flower fairs with many rare flowers.
