THE ROAD TO HAPPIESS

The Road of Happiness is one of the legendary roads of Hà Giang. Not only because of the majestic natural landscape but also because of the arduous history of construction. This is the main road connecting Hà Giang city with the Đồng Văn and Mèo Vạc stone plateaus, stretching about 185km, crossing many dangerous mountain passes such as Mã Pì Lèng Pass - one of the "four great mountain passes" of Vietnam.

History of the Road to Happiness. 

Before this road was built, Hà Giang was a rugged mountainous area with extremely difficult transportation. In 1959, more than 1,300 youth volunteers from 16 ethnic groups across the country participated in opening the road. They worked with their hands, hoes, shovels and explosives in extremely harsh conditions. because at that time there was no modern machinery to support.
