THE LEGEND OF HAM RONG MOUNTAIN IN SAPA
Standing in SaPa town, looking up to the Northeast, you will see a high rock outcropping that look like a Dragon’s head, which is Ham Rong Mountain with an area of about 100 hectares. Legend has it that in the primeval times, there was a pair of dragons who were entwined together while the great flood was rising, unaware of it. When they woke up, they were startled and separated, then struggled to get up, but it was too late. Immediately, each dragon left to a different place.

Until now, although the female dragon had turned to stone, her survival instinct was still strong, still trying to look up at the male dragon on the Hoang Lien side of the western sky. Visitors coming to SaPa cannot miss the climb to Ham Rong Mountain to enjoy the cool air and admire the panoramic view from Ham Rong Mountain. Especially on your steps there are always many diferent types of flowers with different season. Up to the highest cliff you can freely enjoy the panoramic view of the town hidden in the mist and the Hoang Lien mountain range on the other side, below is the Muong Hoa Valley, above are towering mountains…
